Accessories used by Efren “Bata” Reyes, who is still very much revered in the US billiards circuit, are considered hot commodities.

Memorabilia seekers, who want to own a piece of Reyes, don’t mind forking over a fortune, ABS-CBN News reported.

According to National coach Rodolfo Luat, who is Reyes’ contemporary and close friend, collectors in the United States and Japan have repeatedly expressed their desire to acquire many of the “Magician’s” accessories.

In fact, some were willing to pay thousands for a cue stick used by Reyes, especially those he used to win a tournament championships.

The stick that Reyes used for 20 years drew the interest of an American collector willing to buy it for $50,000, Luat told ABS-CBN News. Reyes bought the stick for only P200.

Some cue sticks with Reyes’ engraved signature were also being auctioned off on Ebay, the report added.

Luat said a Japanese collector was once once interested on purchasing a pair of pants that The Magician wore in a tournament that he won.

Reyes, who is currently preparing for the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in August, neither confirmed nor denied Luat’s story.
